Hey guys,

I recently bought a D21 dual cab Navara with a SD25. The previous owner said the SD25 had a bent crank, after having done the head gasket and top end rebuild, new bearings in the bottom etc and gave up.

So, on that information, I figured it wasn't worth rebuilding and sourced a cheap as chips fully rebuilt long TD25. Then got a second hand TD25 engine and gearbox for the accessories and gearbox, and began the conversion.

First issue.... Accidentally snapped the spill tubes.... $100 later
Second issue... Stupid me didn't check the sump to see if it was for 2wd or 4wd... $100 later for new oil pickup (the SD25 4x4 sump bolts straight on)
Third issue... Dipstick tube hole in TD25 block and starter motor is above the SD25 dipstick hole... Still working it out... Filled the TD25 hole, going to try bending the SD25 dipstick tube around the starter motor

Final issue... The SD25 wiring and TD25 wiring are different. I have a TD25 manual but its for D22 and appears to be different. Mainly the alternator wiring.

Has anyone done this swap before? I found a few diagrams for SD25 basic wiring when running a switch for the glow plugs, but still unsure as to what parts of each loom I need? Any photos of engine bays with SD25 wiring or TD25 wiring would be appreciated!! I had photos of the layout when the SD25 was installed, but my phone has decided to phuc itself and cant access them!!

Cheers guys

Connor

Here is some photos of the alternator side wiring for a TD27. It should be the same for a TD25. Let me know if you need better photos.

Cheers for that! Do you have pics of where the other end of the loom connects? Now just gotta find some.of the SD25 to see where to cut and shut!!

Had a look at my old wiring. This is what i could find for the battery side for a TD27. Ignore the wiring that the red arrow is pointing to in the first pic. It is missing a few connectors, but from memory it controls starter, injector pump, reverse & 4wd (I may have forgotten something). The last pic I cant remember what it is for. I hope this helps.
