great information

Rumpig,
Thank you again for the great information. The difference to my car is amazing. I can't wait until I have some time to digest what you have posted and get my car on the dyno.

At what point are you pulling fuel to keep EGT's at 700. Does it actually start where the AFR's go up to 20 around 2500 rpm?

So if you didn't have an issue with temperature, you would increase fuel until the AFR's were 18-19?

There's a map that is supposed to reduce the fuelling for high engine temps to stop you cooking the engine, but if you look at the maximum fuel the original I.Q limiter (torque limiter ) lets you have, this map doesn't even reduce the fuel below that level, making it ineffective. Between this balls up and the temp gauge that's says cold, O.K. and "to late" you'd think Nissan wants us to cook our engine so the can sell us a new one. I've only just added a revised version of this to the remapped version. Once temps go past 105c fuel drops off which should get your attention if your not watching the temp gauge.

Good work mate! I am running your revised version and I think it picks up even a little more than your first one you sent. I am super impressed with the results. I have the egt to monitor temps and they are never too bad apart from hitting big hills in 5th gear but that happens with the stock map setup

don't forget that there is two temp sensors, one for gauge and one for ecu, in different locations.

I use ecutalk to get the actual, the point I was making is that their high temp fuel reduction map only reduces fuelling to a level HIGHER than what you can even request, so it does nothing to stop you cooking your engine.

Lol I like it who a random bloke with a d22 has worked this out yet top computer coders and engineers from Nissan couldnt work it out

Zd30 patrol

Hi guys,

Firstly thanks heaps for the interesting read. I stumbled across all your hard work when looking at performance chips as I thought if you could plug one in, surely you could get the same if not better / safer performance from flashing the factory computer which you have proven.

How goes the progress with the custom maps?

And also I saw mention that for us patrol owners we would have to get a matching set of ecu and ignition barrel to replace the chips in. Is this correct?

I guess the question I want answered is do you reckon modding the factory ecu like you've done is a better path to head down than getting an aftermarket chip to plug in for 850 odd bucks.

Cheers.

PS. I've got an 02 direct injection zd30 if that means anything to you guys.

I believe patrol wagons have an immobilizer and utes don't, you could have your original ecu socketed but if the soldering fails your up shit creek, which is why I recommend keeping your original and using a second hand one (ecu and matching ignition barrel for the Patrol). A chip tuned on a dyno will give similar final figures but learning to do this myself, I can tune it myself when ever I change something and get the Nav to drive they way I like. Each have there pros and cons.

Hi Rumpig, got the new chips and sockets sorted and has made a big difference to how it drives.
Cheers

Simple answer to that if you live close to Townsville NQ, take it to Stuart drive auto care in Townsville NQ or give Rhys there a call. He is the first to start a several step process build of a patrol ZD to make 200+rwkw and I can proudly say that is my old mans ZD patrol. NQ CRD diesel and performance tuning specialist and would highly highly recommend anyone with a Di or CRD to go there if you live near Townsville NQ

Pretty impressed with the remapped sockets off rumpig.installed yesterday keep telling the missus gotta head to the shops to go for a squirt pretty stoked rp cheers again

Hi rumpig, just curious as to how many different tunes you have available?
Mine still going good.
Cheers

2. 15psi and 17 psi. I run 20psi myself but don't give that out as stock turbos won't last at those speeds.
