Ignition frozen Help needed

Went to start my 550 yesterday put the key into the ignition and could not turn the key to start. Tried my spare key same problem, it's like someone has put superglue into the lock cannot even turn it a bit, car was running fine in the morning come back in the arvo and no go.
Anyone else have this problem in a d40 am I missing something here.

Have you wiggled the steering wheel?
Has anyone gone crazy with the locking buttons?

Mine did after I was playing around locking unlocking. Took maybe 5mins with the key in and jiggling the wheel a touch to recognise it

As Mike said, my guess would be the steering has turned and bound itself against the locking pin.

Tried all the usual things still no luck, feel as though I'll break the key if I force the issue.
The ignition has been a bit stiff sometimes awhile back

My first thoughts were as Mike and Tony suggested, I'd say your ignition barrel has failed. Not a common problem but it does happen.

Mine did that a couple of weeks back. Kept trying easily until it came good

yes sounds like one of the ball tumblers has failed. time for a new ignition switch.

Try squirting a bit of " crickets piss" (WD40) in the barrel and wiggle it again.
