I have only ever had 4 cylinder vehicles so they do what I ask.

However I have been in some worked V8's and the haul arse.

Been in a few turbo and supercharged 6's aswell that well pretty well.

Dave.

This would be a good engine for a 4WD. The 1933 Napier Railton

Configuration Napier Lion W 12
Location Front, longitudinally mounted
Construction aluminium block, cast-iron head
Displacement 23.97 liter / 1462.7 cu in
Bore / Stroke 139.7 mm (5.5 in) / 130.2 mm (5.1 in)
Valvetrain 2 valves / cylinder, OHV
Fuel feed 3 Carburettors
Aspiration Naturally Aspirated
500hp @ 2200 rpm.

As much as I like my 4 cylinders, Inline 6's are some of the best motors.

Pretty much all road trucks run them, says enough to me.

Dave.

The Monaros in the Bathurst 24 hour were 454 Chevy powered. Blitzed the field.

Dave, you didn't say what for. Now all these guys are going on about V8s and V12s and have no idea you were asking about a lawn mower.

Shame on you. Electric, please.

Weren't they 427's used in the Monaro.

Any vehicle you wish to put whatever motor in, hey I am pretty sure I have seen a few 350 Chevs in lawn mowers in the US from Youtube videos.

Dave.

You're right, of course, I went and checked my pic of the yellow Monaro - it was a 427. So was Brocky's red one. That sorta means the 454 would be even worse!

I think the V10 8.4L Viper donk would give that a run for its money. Keep it on the bitumen though. For really heavy hauling off-road you might consider a Cat C175-20.
