son of trial "plus" is on again

Some Pics of the event are now up on page three.

If anyone is keen the "SON OF TRIALS "plus" is on again from the 1st november to the 3rd november, gates open on friday and you can register at the gate.
I will be going with a few mates, BUT i will not have my nav back in time and will be driving my old Hilux (dont hate me lol)

I have done a few of these now and its a great weekend camping and driving the fun tracks, nothing to serious, more about getting out and have a go.

At the last one my wife got a third place overall in the 31" tyre class and some excellent prizes.

Anyway let me know if you think you can make it, or give us a shout at the event.

I picked up my D40 today so i no longer have to drive my old Hilux,,,,,,,, thank god!! lol

The next one is in Feb, not sure of the exact dates at this stage.
Its not worth risking your recovery over mate so i dont blame you for missing this one.

it really is a great weekend
once you go you will be hooked for life

I`m already working, shame really otherwiase i would have done it for sure, more so as its only down the road a bit.

yeah mate same location, the only difference is this one is the son of trails "PLUS",
which means they have another class 35" tires and lockers, and with that class they modify a few of the courses slightly specifically for that class and all the course are slightly harder then the Normal "son of trials" for all classes.
At the standard version of "SOT" in feb they are a little more lenient on times and penalties and the courses are a little wider ect, and you no longer are allowed to have tires bigger then 33"s and lockers are not permitted to be used and must be disabled if they are installed (removal of the fuse or disconnect compressor ect)

Damn sounds like a good watch this time around.

The fun starts tomorrow guys but the gates open today (friday) at 12pm fro those looking to camp and get set up.
You can still enter at the gate for driving or you can come down for a day just to watch and see if its something you may want to enter in the future, Maybe even the standard version "son of trials" with out the "PLUS which is normally run in february.

Anyway if anyone does come down give us a yell, im in the white D40 ST with black bar work and Black rims.

Ok got back this arvo after an awesome weekend.
as far as results, I ended up with a 1st place medal for event 1 (the sand trap) with a time of 1:45min required i got 1:45:00, so i was stoked there.
overall i ended up 5th in the 33" touring class and prizes were given for 1st through to 5th, i won a BBQ skillet pan, roll of metric and imperial spanners and a $250 voucher with DP CHIP.

my wife got 4th place overall in the 31" standard class and a 1st place medal for the lowest sore in event 5 (col's cut)
she won a set of "LIGHTFORCE" spotties and a $250 voucher with "Hitech 4x4 specialists" in penrith, T-shirt.

firends of mine who went with us clayton won the 31"standard class and also won best overall male, prizes were, awning, camp stretcher, camp chair, recovery bag and gear, 80ch UHF and arial, and i think a few other goodies,
another one in our group (much to hubby disgust lol) Nicole won best overall female, 3rd in the 31" standard class and most amount of lowest scores!! prizes were, $500 Mickey Thompson voucher, the latest "ARK" pack ($400 worth) tool roll and BBQ skillet,

so out of 115 drivers and three classes our group represented really well and had an awesome weekend.

One downer was that i smashed in the back of my tub on the right corner taking out the tail light and leaving the entire rear quarter with a massive dent, so i have to put on a new tub tomorrow so i dont get defected. will post a pic up soon.

Mate that's a great weekend and top results. I'd be chuffed too!

Thanks Luke, great few days of fun and carnage! the misses took heaps of pics so i will post some up tomorrow.

Bugga sorry about the tub mate, maybe time for a custom tray? sure you could knock one up pretty easy. show us ya pics mate, oh and good job on the wins.

Pics are coming mate, had a hectic day.
new tub fitted this arvo after working all day, so it all back to brand new.
The old tub had a few minor dings from other trips so it wasnt a huge loss, and i picked up the other brand new tub off an identical 2012 white ST with every thing on it, lights, sports bar and rear chrome bar for $200 off a mate. Didnt really need the sport bar or the rear bar, but my brother in law who bought my old Black one needs the rear bar so it wont go to waste.

Nicely done!!!!
