Hey guys, recently installed a chip and installing a boost/egt gauge with the pyro sensor in the dump pipe...
Just want to know what levels I don't want to see so I'll know whether I will need an intercooler or not. Chip is only on low power setting for now.

Cheers.

Probably dont want to go much above 500 for too long.

700 is when i start to back off, but thats in the manifold.
Rule of thumb is -200 for dump temps.

I have mine in the dump pipe.
Generally see 250-300 around town 300-350 reasonably flat highway at 100kph.
350-450 on up and down hilly highway (Hume Highway/Freeway between Clonbinane and the Western Ring Rd) at 110kph, peaking at 500-550 on a long steep hill (every day same hill) (rarely let it even get to 550 unless I am concentrating on the road and it hits 550 while I'm not looking at the gauge) where I back off

What sort of gauge have you got? The old rule used to be 550c in the dump pipe. My gauge is in fahrenheit though, so I look for about 1000f, which is about 530c. Haven't seen it much over 800f though, I have a yd25, no chip but an xforce 3 inch, no cat or muffler.

Yeah back off at 500c. Its only really hills that see temps get that high
