So I picked up a second hand Hazard switch and installed on the factory spot to the left of the existing switch. to turn on and off my flashing work light.

Only thing is that it has four wires and I'm not sure which colour wire controls what, does any one have a wiring diagram that could help,

Thanks

I've gone through some of the diagrams for the D40, it appears that the Hazard switch is normally connected (M48) to the BCM which organises the flashing of the indicators. I couldn't find (although it might be there, but I just spend 15 minutes looking at it and didn't find it) what wire was doing what task.

There's an easier and quicker way. If you have a multimeter, you could use that to determine the switch state of each of the wires. Do you need a simple on/off function? I used standard 12V in-car switches (like Carling switches) for my driving lights and aux power on/off.
