Hi
Can any tell me what revs i should be doing at 90 kmh in 5th
Also what is the sweet spot range for changing up/down gears.
At the mo i drop down around 2000rpm change up at around 3000rm.
ZD30 5 speed man 3lt DDI 2005.

Really going to depend on the roads and your loads.
More important to let it rev out to 3k or a bit over before changing up if towing/uphill etc.
Anywhere from 2500-3500 would be a rough range to change up.

The best thing to do would be find out where the peak power and torque rpm ratings are and try and keep the motor between them. Ideally when you change up you want to keep the rpm in the peak torque range.

I change up around 2 to 2500 usually depending on traffic speed, load or hill etc, but I have a remapped ECU so my torque curve starts lower now. The car will tell you if it's too low...

It depends how it has been driven since new too. If the previous owner or owners used the whole rev range, it will be smoother than one that was caned in high revs its whole life. I can run my 2.5 down to around 1000 rpm and it is a bit slow to pick up but with the remapped ecu it starts boosting at about 1250 rpm. Still runs out of puff around 4000 rpm though, plus that's above the max power rpm anyway...
