oil drain line

hi. ive recently bought a 2012 stx 550. there is a drain line that drips oil? it does it when the the oil is overflown in something i notices the oil level is a bot too high? any one have any idea .

There is a small oil catch tray that sits under the oil filter that has a drain hose that runs down for when you replace the oil filter so you don't get old oil everywhere
