Dash or Floor mount hand brake

i have a 1988 d21 4x4 navara that has a dash mount hand brake and am looking at buying a new body for it and i need to know pretty urgently weather this matters or if i can just wrap the cable around or just change it over, either way im happy to do i just need to know if it will work.

In reality the handbrake is just a latching lever with a cable on it. As long as you can get it to engage it'll work - you might need to customise the cable itself, but if you've ever owned a caravan of any age, you've probably managed that already anyway. If that was the only issue involved, it's not something that would stop me - I'd go shopping for some pulleys (for routing the cable clear of any underbody obstructions) and some good wire wrap cable.

Got the body and it ended up being a dash mount anyway
