Howdy all, in preparation for upcoming fraser island trip, I figured i'd probably be needing some water, whenever we go camping there never seems to be enough water, and we seem to battle with Jerry cans everywhere so a plan started to be formed.
Below the alloy tray on my ute (STX King cab) theres a handy looking bracket setup, big gap behind the trundle tray that is basically dead space, initially I looked at putting pvc stormater pipes in but it was only going to give us 47litres, might as well just use the cans.
So, a few measurements & i'm off down the toolbox place for an ally box to be knocked up to my specs, outlet & breather came from boating place & siliconed up all the welds cos they are a bit dodgy.
Now the difficult bit, to fit the box we had to lift the tray off, the tray I have hapens to be very wel built for this, basically took the bolts out and slid it back, chucked a bit of stormwater pipe in as a roller and away we go.
Dropped the box in, bolted in place & rivetted the lid on, slid tray back and hey presto, we're done.
All up took 3 of us about two hours, box was $350 and holds about 95litres.
