what is the cylindrical thing for that is welded infront of the leaf spring hangers?

I can't see it in the manual. I just stuck my head under the rear of my Nav and can't see what you're referring to - so a pic would be handy.

Is it the brake proportioning valve, it has a coil spring attached to it from the diff, it detects how much weight is in the ute and adjusts the valve for rear braking, if thats what your talking about.

Its where the leaf joins the chassis, The pin goes through the mount and on the mount infront of the pin there is a mini bar coke can sized thing. just wondered if it even has a name.

Sounds to me like a harmonic dampening weight for the rear suspension.

had a look under a few other D22s and it seems the double cab has 'em and the single cab doesnt. (UK models)
