replacing zd30 injector pump

Hi Guys, first post and it's a question.

My father has an 02 d22 navara with the zd30 motor in it, he recently got a bad tank of fuel which had a heap of water/mud in it and it has wrecked the injector pump (has been diagnosed) anyway instead of getting a new or reco pump we reckon it can be replaced with one of another motor a lot cheaper than he has been quoted, nissan quoted about 6.5 grand to replace.

My question is can i get a pump of another pre common rail zd30 motor (navara, patrol)? I have been told a replacement needs to match the number on his injector pump, is this true?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mate check out ebay or a few diesel specialist's. There are brand new pumps that pop up sometimes on there or Pm Nizzbits.

A injection pump is not something you wanna skimp on.

i agree with dave dont skimp on an injector pump but one out of similar model navara will no worries dont use a patrol as the electronics are different on there motors they are also easy to change as there is no timing to set
