D40 roof mounted antenna

Can anyone on here do me a mad favour.

As I am nowhere near my car at the moment, I need someone to unscrew the antenna out of the mount and tell me what the size of the thread is, and whether it is male or female.

I am looking on ebay for a shorter european one.

Any help, or pics for that matter, would be much appreciated!

Hi there

the aerial has the male end (up inside a plastic sleeve) and the roof attachment (obviously) has the female end.

Has anyone had problems with there roof mounted aerial leaking water. The rubber seal on mine has gone quite hard and obviously isn't sealing to well. Thought about putting a smear of silastic on it but if I ever need to get it off will be a PITA. I would also imagine that Nissan wouldn't sell the seal seperately. Any suggestions besides buying something aftermarket.

Not sure about what Nissan would and wouldn't sell, you could PM nizzbits and find out. Otherwise I'd just use silastic, don't go crazy with it and a sharp knife will remove it should you ever need to get it off.
