Hi all,

Pulling the manual box out for synchro repairs but buggered if I can seperate the box from the block of the QD32.

They are obviously sealed/glued together but any movement results in the block moving with the box.

Any one got any tips or tricks to seperate the two...

Can be tricky. Make 150% sure that there is no bending in the assembly, as this will cause the splines to lock together, ie. make sure the engine and gearbox are supported so they are both as flat as possible.

I used tie-down ratchet straps off a cross member and around the bellhousing to tension the f### out of the gearbox, then pry bars in all the pry points to work it loose.

Good luck mate, it's never easy.

All sorted.
I ended up using two ratchet straps.
One to hold the block still and square and the other to tension the rear of the box rearward.
Once this was setup I got a little jimmy bar in between the box/block at the top and shook like crazy and finally they separated.

All fixed and back in now.

That was a prick of a job, might be lazy and have some one else do it for me next time
