Having been stuck for extended periods in deep puddles I am thinking about breathers for:
* Diffs
* gear box
* transfer case

What would people recommend? Is it overkill to do all 4?
I believe I read somewhere on the forum that the D40 already comes with one diff breather, is this correct?

Thanks.

Check the engine bay, the gearbox and front diff should have em from the factory but will have to do rear diff I think.

Dave.

I have all the bits to do my rear diff breather but just have a question.

On my 08 D22 the transfer case and gearbox breathers are teed together. Do you think it would be ok to tee the rear diff breather into this as well. I was just a little worried about LSD oil vapour mixing with the transfer/gearbox oil or visa versa. Maybe just over reacting :p

Also when I removed the stock rear diff breather to check thread size of the new connection there was a slight suction as the diff was under a vaccum, perhaps the stock one is a non-return valve?

I just ran my rear diff one to the engine bay and its between the brake lines at the booster.

Dave.
