In regards to the original posters question could this be the over rev sensor thingy. These things have a protection sensor that cuts in when the engine is in danger of over revving with no load. Coasting down hill in gear will do it apparently
Check the little white clips on the firewall that hold the brake lines. Mine did similiar and ended up being pipe against the firewall.
Also we had a ute at work that was very similiar that time it was an injector.
There is a sticky at the start of the suspension section called torsion bar change that i put a few photos in, if you read this and still cant do it then take up dress making
Pretty sure your ball joints are now d21as others have said. For some reason calmini uca are made with d21 ball joints instead of d22.
It didnt stop me fitting calmini uca. Once youve worked it out try nizzbits for a better than dealer price.
Why do you think you need a new one?
Have you seen the posts on here about the ecu on top of the pump?
Good luck with it and keep us posted.
Take care if removing it yourself, there is timing shit on the pump that has to line up. Consult the manual on here. Its actually not a small job and only...
Many 05 models?
Also when you say cracked heads, have you seen many with the small hair line crack between glow plug hole and exhaust valve?
Ive seen a couple and I have a spare head, and id just about bet most have this tiny crack, I woild be really happy to be proven wrong tho.
Yeah a while back one of those white clips on the firewall on mine broke and the pipe made a terrible rattling noise, took me ages to find it. I ended up fixing it with a big blob of sikaflex.
Can you listen to one, similar model and kms to compare? Maybe pretend to be interested in one in a car yard and have a listen to it.
I was worried about mine being a bit noisy until I listened to one at work that has less kms on it and is noisier than mine.
How many kms are you getting before hose splits?
Last time I looked I noticed mine had some wear from rubbing, and ive been meaning to order another.
When I can be bothered I might look at tweaking with the design.
