    Stereo Wiring Plugs D40

Thanks Allan, I've looked at APP091 and it indeed is missing the crucial SWC pins. I've found a Subaru place in the States that does the harness with all the pins I need but they charge a bomb for international shipping. Interesting idea to cannibalise pins from the bluetooth bypass plug. I'm...

    Stereo Wiring Plugs D40

OP, The plug that you have an arrow pointing in your photo to is likely to be the AUX port input. My 2011 has a different shape plug but similarly has only 5 or 6 wires to it. I confirmed 4 of them are the AUX headphone-style jack and I'm fashioning my own harness to run it to my new headunit...

    Stereo Wiring Plugs D40

G'day Allan, Do you happen to recall the Aerpro model harness that you used? I'm having difficulty finding one that includes pins 6, 15 & 16 without also including an expensive control module. My new headunit has SWC learning so all I need are the pigtails you described. Cheers DG

    Install Redarc Towpro Navara D40

Thanks for all the additional info and ideas gents! So the 15A pin is not a concern - happy with that (although the amp rating makes it counter-intuitive). I agree with Old Tony that keeping to standard pin assignment is important. I don't want to orphan both my car and trailer for use with...

    Install Redarc Towpro Navara D40

Absolutely, and I am - 30A fuse, 6mm cable (50A) -, however it connects to the trailer socket (pin 5 - service brakes) which is only rated to 15A. Not much I can do about that. It's just a standard flat 7 pin trailer socket. Hence my comment regarding it being the weak link. In the case of a...

    Install Redarc Towpro Navara D40

I'm fusing with a 30A thermal breaker at the battery end. Not enough? I thought that might be overkill considering the actual weak link in the whole thing is a pin rated to 15A in the trailer socket. I hadn't considered fusing the other end too. I didn't see that covered in any of the many...

    Install Redarc Towpro Navara D40

I should mention that its braking for a 3 tonne tandem trailer (regarding amp draw)

    Install Redarc Towpro Navara D40

Just a quick question on this topic... I'm doing the same thing installing a P3. I've run 6mm wire from controller to pin 5 of the trailer socket but 6mm is a little too heavy to connect directly to the pin. At the moment I've temporarily spliced my 6mm to the not-so-generous blue tail that...

    Ignition switched +

Any chance you have that pic Malicious?? I've done a DRL too but I'm looking to clean up the install wiring a bit.

    265/70R17 or 265/65R17LT?

I went with the 265/65R17 in light truck construction. Very happy. They look mean and feel great on the road and no discernable increase in noise. I have yet to get them on anything more interesting than gravel unfortunately but fingers crossed that they continue to impress. I'm still surprised...

    265/70R17 or 265/65R17LT?

I'm going for the Bridgestone D697s. Unfortunately still undecided on size. Voting is 60/40 with only 5 votes. I was hoping for a clear winner based on everyone else's experience. Perhaps a coin toss will make the decision. Or price.

    265/70R17 or 265/65R17LT?

Ahh yes, the lift and diff locks are both in the future-project (lotto-win) tray. :) So I guess that's a vote for big, as a poor-mans lift? Thanks Old.Tony

    265/70R17 or 265/65R17LT?

PS - There's not much in it regarding load rating. 115 vs 116 on the LT

    265/70R17 or 265/65R17LT?

Long time lurker, first time poster. G'day! I'd love to pick the brains of the collective regarding a tyre size and construction choice that I need to make. I won't enter the tyre debate at this stage (although I predict it might run away with us) - let me just say that I've made my tyre...
