I was thinking the fishing rod idea too. The conduit might be half a chance, and yeah I thought about the golf flag, used to work in a course and still work around them a bit. Thing is it needs to be well connected to the vehicle and that's probably why they cost a bit with mounting brackets etc.

Cheers boys, started today cold and hot without missing a beat. No loose battery connections and primer was hard on 3rd pump. Ever since the big plume of smoke on start up yesterday it's been fine. I'm due for service so I'll mention it then..

Side note to this... first time it happened my heater/aircon didn't work, turned off car and restarted and it came on. Could be u related but I think I'll head out shortly and check the battery connections and I'll also check the primer.
