So I managed to fix it. I went through the steps as mentioned above and it ended up being the bolts holding the turbocharger to the manifold. All 4 of them were loose. Tell tale sign was soot around it as you mentioned. Maybe it was the trip to the snow last weekend (hot & cold) that loosened...
Has anybody had any issues with the turbo making a screeching noise? It sounds like a belt slipping. It is definitely the turbo as I have taken off the boost pipe and it has stopped making the noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Cheers mate. Any idea where I could pick one up from. Ive tried nissan and super cheap, they both have to order them in. I need to get the vehicle back on the road for work. Thanks
Could anybody help me. I returned from a trip to fraser island last night. I have just got in the car and realised there is a leak coming from the transmission. Any idea where or what it could be? Im pretty new to this so go easy. TIA.
I have attached a few pictures if it helps
Ok so i just took a look and there was an eroded hose that was pretty much not doing anything. I cut it back and put it back onto the nipple on top of the round part on top of the turbo. Ill see how it goes when I finish work, hopefully that will be it.
Mine is the d40. 2.5 diesel auto.
Ill try out a blanking plate and see how that goes. Also ill check all hoses for any leaks. Thanks for the advice mate. Appreciate it.
Thanks for the welcome and replies.
To be honest there wasn't much soot in there to begin with. Only slight dust. Mechanic thinks it maybe a turbo issue. But its only been happening since I took off the pipe and put it back on. Im wondering if its something I may have done wrong.
Hello all. New to this forum. I recently took off the egr pipe to clean out soot. Since I have put the pipe back on the vehicle has been a bit sluggish. Any suggestions as to what this problem maybe? TIA
