t.jarvis White smoke in this case is diesel injected on the exhaust stroke. This covers the dpf and burns of the soot/coke.With out the dpf diesel hits the exhaust and turns to a vapour/white smoke.You can smell the unburnt fuel

Request a power balance test using consult from a Nissan dealer. This will highlight an injector problem and which ones. You could ask the dealer using consult to reset fuel pump.Cost is around $120.

Latest update Well that success was short lived.Played up straight after I posted.I then took the car into the dealer for a consult scan.Came up with a code 1705 which translates into a throttle position sensor.I strongly suspected this was the culprit.There head diesel tech is away till...

Update Ok Update. Pulled the plugs off the 2x temp and o2 sensors and gave them a spray with electrical cleaner. Did the reset on fuel pump and all back to normal. I am 99.9% convinced this has fixed it.

Well went to local mechanic today and his OBD11 reader came up blank.Yet I can still get it to flash 0403.Seems the the reader needs an engine check light on to read a code.Saturday I will check wiring around the heated O2 and temp sensors.

Has anyone checked the actuator lever at a few thousand revs. Car is going in Thursday to local mech. for a scan.

Thanks Tony.I placed a brick on the pedal and held it at 3000rpm.That had the actuator lever jumping all over the place.Be interested to see if this is normal.
