I only have two manual d40s so don't take it as a given .the thai is diferent to the spanish (the troubled one)as the sensor on the clutch was the issue but bugger me dead,after fussing for 12 months found the grommet on the pedal had deteriorated on one side and wasn't activating the sensor on...

It's a relay On the passenger side firewall that supplies ecu. Swap the demister relay to get out of strife and get it to dealer as it's a recall issue. Units must be coded to ecu so best use original dealer as they have eng vin etc on car.Nissan will tell you that they sent recall but buggered...
