dont know where to go 4x4ing

Some of the tracks around Matlock out from Warburton are open, basically you need to get hold of a map, look at the tracks and then look at the DSE web site to see if the tracks you intend to do are closed or open. I spoke to a mate today about Walhalla and all the Deep Creek tracks are still...

For all you (sheet) metal heads

I agree with Matt, not a chance in 2mm sheet, it will need to be rolled, even in thinner sheet using a former like some pvc pipe you will need to figure a way to fix the sheet along the edge that you are rolling, any where it lifts from the former will cause small bends between each point the...

A mate of mine that I go wheelin with regularly has the new BFG KM2 muds and he reckons they are excellent, best tyres he's had yet so he says.

    Swine flu.

Lol, and maybe there should be some swine flu based payout to go along with the fridge magnet.

    Global warming ?

Global warming is a sham, it's been known for 2 years now that the earth is cooling as is the sun, but nobody appears to be pointing that out. I do agree that we need to do better as far as pollution goes, but global warming is not the excuse that should be used to push a green agenda.

Shonky's STR [No longer Shonky's Navara - SOLD]

I love the 80 off road, did Border Tk (Vic/SA Border) and it is much more comfortable off road, as for being thirsty, yes it is but I was expecting that, and sluggish, dunno what 80 you drove but my one goes like a rocket, the 4.5ltr petrol is a good piece of kit, not sure on the exact stats, a...

Shonky's STR [No longer Shonky's Navara - SOLD]

G'day Bob, The suspension was pretty good, the rear end was excellent, good supple ride without being too soft and uncontrolled, the front end was just ok but it will depend on the vehicle in question, mine still did porpoise a little but it was a lot better than standard, it may have been...

EGR, Whats the purpose of it......

G'day Matty, It is just an emissions thing, it lowers the temperature of the flame front in the combustion chamber which in turn reduces NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide) emissions out the exhaust, but the jury is out on whether this actually lowers general engine temperatures as well. What it does do...

Weekend job's you always seem to get stuck doing.

Things just didn't work out with one of the guys I was working for, he thought I wasn't getting enough done and I thought he was smoking to many bongs during work time to be making that call so I pulled the pin and told him to shove his job up his.......anyway after that the old man asked me to...

Weekend job's you always seem to get stuck doing.

I'm a sparky by trade, but I've been ignoring people that ask me to do stuff for so long that have given up which is great cause I get my weekends to myself.

    Aftermarket recovery points

If memory serves me correctly there is a hole on the outside of the chassis rail that is oval in shape about 1-2" back from where the rear bolt in the hook would be, requires a bit of finger yoga to get the nuts on the bolts.

    turbo timer

The timer I had on my D22 was hooked up to the hand brake, it would not operate without the handbrake applied, if I needed to stop the car straight away rather than use the timer I would not apply the handbrake.

so many spotties to choose from....

I wouldn't recommend the Lightforce 170s, they are as good as you can get as a spot (240s are probably a bit better), but as a driving light where you do want some side spread they are shitful unless you buy the spread beam covers which people love to pinch.
