The head is a reco when the timing chain was done, there has been some pipes & hoses left untightened, i checked the pipes from the turbo they seem good? 2007, 140,000Ks.

Gday guys, I had my car at the mechanics for some time a while back, & the mechanic stated that my turbo was noisy & it was a concern. I never really took much notice about the noise only the timing chain issues, but since i got it back ive been thinking about it. It sounds the same as the D40...

There was also a whistle when you reved the motor, my mechanic said it was the turbo, turns out it was just a screw on one of the pipes coming from the turbo was loose letting sounds out, it is 100% now. Also had the engine light coming on when starting up, it was a sensor plug not in properly...

I dont believe its the timing chain because that would rattle all the time, it sounds more like its in the head like no oil, maybe an injector rattle. The only thing i can try like has been said is to change the fuel filter back to genuine.

Why does it not rattle after the all the work, then after the 1500K service it dos? Its not right?

No, you can only hear it on acceleration under load.

Your correct it was replaced, but i have no idea on brand, it wouldnt be genuine. I had an issue before xmass with another non genuine fuel filter, it would start then stall every morning, once i took it back to Nissan they put a genuine filter on & it was 100%.

Maybe temperature sensitive, or go another type of oil?

Hi. My 07 Navara (2.5D) is at the local Deisel mechanic awaiting an oil sample test, as my oil seems to be increasing? Or, my usual mechanic is putting too much in. Im hoping it isnt fuel thats maybe thinning my oil??? If it is fuel in my sump what possible causes are there for this to happen...

100% correct, the chain issue is a process that slowly creeps up, but gets worse then its noticeable. I have the same issue atm. :pissedoff:
