Hi Guy's and Fellow Members,
I'm having EGR issues...
A blanking plate was fitted 11 months ago on the Gold Coast. We have driven with our caravan to and around Tasmania with no problems. I am now getting PO403, 405, 406 & 652 codes and at random ok for a day or so and then play up again. It throws up the Anti Skid light and the engine light after it starts but there is no throttle.
I've just taken out the EGR Valve to soak overnight and clean hoping that may resolve my issue. My blanking plate doesn't have a hole in it. Should I drill a 6 mm hole in it as I've read on this forum? Why has it been trouble free untill now? My Nav has only done 140000 km's.
Any reassurance I can get would be greatly appreciated...

Welcome to the forum.

Chances are it's not the EGR valve, but an electrical gremlin that's crept in. It's not uncommon. The main things to check (which means look at, take apart, clean and reassemble) are:

* Both battery terminals
* Fusible link on positive terminal
* Battery negative connection to chassis
* ECU earth point on vehicle right hand inner guard in engine bay

If the problem were just instrumentation I'd suggest checking the instrument earth, but it's generating codes in the ECU which I've not seen the instrument (stereo) earth do before.

Thankyou Tony,
I'll check all of those. That was not at all the answer I was expecting...
