    crappy servicing I was in the automotive service industry for 30 years in Canada, so I find it especially disturbing how crappy service is here. Both dealers and especially independants focus on one-stop shopping and make sure their customers leave with a smile, not a frown. Sigh.

    I gave up with the dealer, and will have my NEW Navara professionally cleaned and de-odored, and send them the bill. They just said the smell will go away after a while(weeks, months?)

    Redarc bcdc1220

    redarc Before you purchase put a volt meter on the alternator output and drive the vehicle. Watch the voltage --If it drops below about 12 v you will need the BCDC 1220 Ign model. For exact specs go to the Redarc website. I won't have my new Navara until Sept. so will be checking mine then.

    redarc A can-bus regulated alternator will drop well below the voltage required to keep the regular Redarc chargers turned on, thusly no charging.

    A question for someone with knowledge on this. Does the 2012 Navara with the 2.5 turbo use the can-bus system to control the alternator. This makes a difference when ordering a Redarc. If NOT Can-bus you can use the BCDC-1220 but if Can-bus controlled I will need to order a BCDC-1220-ign...
