    Yd25 start up rattle

G'day 2012 model ute. I understand the theory on belts but this isn't a squeak its more of a slapping metal sound. Could be tensioner too I guess as that been slack will cause noises. Filter is genuine Nissan. It's only ever been serviced at Nissan. I'll get the belts done anyway at the...

    Yd25 start up rattle

G'day Done a bit of searching but still have a question. How many Kay's do they normally do before the rattle normally starts? I've done 70,000 Kay's now and it's had the rattle at start up for the last 5000 Kay's and getting worse. I assume its timing chain noise as it sounds like its...

2011 str d22, need an upgrade!

G'day With a bit of weight on it rides really well. I normally carry a fuel tank (200 litre) and a decent tool box so when the tanks full it rides fine. I do a bit on corrugated roads and it seams fine to me. Cheers

2011 str d22, need an upgrade!

G'day Selling due to change of business requirements, I need a bigger 4wd that can tow 3.5ton daily in the coming months so the d22 won't cut it. I'd rather move it on before I destroy it. December 2011 build date. I picked it up feb 2012. Happy for test drives and to answer any questions...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day Well the sager rolls on. It's going to Nissan in 2weeks so maybe some form of answer might happen. Over the last 5000 od Kay's I had noticed that she was puffing a fair amount of black smoke on take off and gear changes when going slow from 1st to 2nd. I've since done the egr blank off...

    Towbar and wiring fitment

G'day Appears that the above is the case. I measured a mates car up last night and his is 100 mm shorter than mine. Everything else is the same size. I don't think it's going to make any difference to towing other than being harder to hook up safety chains! Ill just use some rated hooks with...

    Towbar and wiring fitment

G'day My ball is only just behind the step. I put my trailer on last night and it seams that it will work ok and shouldn't hit the bumper. Got the wiring to do now. Cheers

    Towbar and wiring fitment

G'day Got my towbar on over the weekend. Fairly simple job really and didn't take long. My only question is, how close should the ball be to the bumper? It seams very close to me. Anyone got a pic of there's? Cheers

    Towbar and wiring fitment

G'day Thanks guys Interesting on the thickness of the wiring. I've just done a p3 in my other car that tows the boat, its only got a 15 amp fuse so current draw on 4mm wire shouldn't be that high over that small distance but advice taken and ill use some 6 in the nav. I've also got to run some...

    Towbar and wiring fitment

G'day I'm finally going to fit up a towbar to my 2012 d22. I got the bar off eBay 12months ago. It's a hayman Reece bar. I also got the wiring loom from Nissan. Can someone tell me if the rear step stays or goes? And if it stays do the brackets for the bar use the same bolts as the step...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day 95% of my driving is it at 100-110 on open country rds. Very little stop start at all. If I was still living in Melbourne I would REALLY disapoinnted with the economy because of the stop ad start driving. My other car is a 4runner with a 5vz v6 in it, up here I actually gained economy...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day Your right tony it is pretty sad. Anyway I've just gotta deal with it, they said I'm due for new tyres in 5000 Kay's so that will be interesting. I plan on going up a size to get the speedo right so economy should get a little better from that. I plan on doing the egr mod soon so I'll...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day Well ute went to Nissan yesterday for a service. I asked about the economy and was told there's nothing that can be done without keeping fuel receipts and writing the Kay's on each one for a month. I must fill up on the same bowser and try to do it on the same time each day I need fuel...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day That's interesting tyler cause I've just done another tank today. Filled up 62.64 litres for 512 Kay's for 12.23 litres per hundred. The difference, I've only got about 200 kgs of weight in the back. Been sitting on 110 for this tank since Wednesday. If ya can Tyler do a tank without...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day I've done that tony on my weekly work trips, the best I can get sitting on 95 and not racing gears is 11.3 with the usual fuel tank and toolbox. If I'm empty and sit on 80 only, same work trip and same pump at bp I can get down to 10.8. I think it's too high, I've thought it was high...

    Concerning economy!!!

Gday Righto tony I use your exact method, so I've got that bit right. I always fill up at pump 3 in jerilderies bp servo so that parts right. I know the odometer is slightly out and the speedo is 10% out but I figure its constant so I just work off that. If I go off actual km travelled then the...

    Concerning economy!!!

G'day After reading a few posts in other threads I think my d22 is using too much fuel. It's a 2012 yd25 with bullbar ome 2 inch lift and the standard tub. It's about to go in for its 30,000 service. No engine or drivetrain mods. Stock tyres. I normally carry about 150kgs in the tray with...
