Its good to have a cheap $40 scan tool . when you get a fault just plug the tool into the main ecu plug and let the tool read the fault and also clear any faults. i have a Konnwei scan tool and its great.

Yes the D-40 is much better for towing and power than the D-22.

not sure on your engine but you may have 2 x sensors that will cause this issue. 1 is the MAF sensor and the other is the MAP sensor, the map sensor gets clogged up with soot and needs cleaning periodicly. you can buy this spray cleaner from supercheap etc etc, it is called MAP sensor...

Had my airbags replaced on Friday , only had to waite 45 minutes and all done. actually thanks to Nissan Australia for contacting me as i was putting this replacement off due to thinking about the waite at the dealers but they mentioned it only takes an hour to do.

my 2014 D-22 is on the list , just the inconvenience of getting this replacement done. wonder if its for both the wheel and glove box area bags or just the steering wheel bag that needs replacing.

was it the same weight engine oil ? as in 5w-30 last time and 5w-30 this time ??

another key and barrel destroyer is when you have extra weight from more keys and nick nacks hanging off the main key wheen its in the ignition. the bouncing up and down wears these out alot quicker .

Arn,t we lucky the door and ignition keys are just like the common house key. $10 a key. those electronic keys are bloody expensive .

not all yd-25 engines have premature timing chain failures, the D-40 / yd-25 engine is not the same as the D-22 / yd-25 engine.

That is the d-40 model to be wary of with timing chain failures. the d-22 late model does not have this issue as a better quality chain has been used.

50k is nothing on the clock and certainly nothing to worry about in regards to the timing chain failing.

the new mount has to be different to the old mount going by the pics. as mentioned the only weight is coming from the rear of transmission so both mounts should be equal in appearance., certainly not how they look in these pics. maybe if the front engine mount has collapsed abit this could...

I have only had a letter from Nissan wanting me to book my car in for the airbag to be replaced.

the mounts appear to be different in shapes. normally the 2 x cross member mounts just take up the weight of the transmission rear so by rights this mount in pic shouldn,t be that low compared to the other side mount as you know. can you take both mounts off and compare them unloaded ?

you should be pretty safe with the later 2014 model.
