Timing chain snapped, engine went bang :(

Plenty of interesting info here. Since I have had it I've always used good quality oil filters and oil, I bought it with 70,000kms on the clock and full service history. I've taken some photos I'll put up later. As the chain has broken it has chipped teeth off the cogs and the top tensioner is...

Timing chain snapped, engine went bang :(

An interesting point is that it was the upper duplex chain that snapped, not the bottom one that is supposed to be the weaker one. We have the engine out and the head off. Making some enquires with a few second hand motors. Trying to weigh up if repairing this one will cost almost as much as a...

Timing chain snapped, engine went bang :(

Thanks for all the replies guys. I've flicked Nissan an email but I highly doubt anything would come of it. Started pulling the engine apart anyway, need to get it sorted. Still sourcing a new engine, there are quite a few around, can get a low km one with a warranty for $4-5,000. Still not...

Timing chain snapped, engine went bang :(

Hey guys, Noticed a new rattle sound a few weeks back coming from front of the engine. did a little research and figured it was possibly the timing chain. Went to my mechanic and booked it in. I only drove it a couple of times after that whilst waiting for it to head into the mechanics, then 2...

They look great, not sure if I should get the slim or ultra slim. Obviously I want slim for flex but is there negatives with the ultra slim?

    Wanted: bump stop d22

Hi guys, would anyone have a spare bump stop, the top one that sits just about UCA. The little rubber but that holds it in broke off on mine somehow. Willing to pay. Refer pic. "]http://[/URL]

Suspension help please (Not covered elsewhere)

Hi Shorty thanks for the reply, yeah sorry my question is two part I prob made it as confusing as I could. I do need lower load springs, would that lower the rear at all? How many leaves can you take out for it still to function properly? When I referred to changing the extended shackles that is...

Should have added, it is a 2010 D22. And I know there is supposed to be a little difference between front and rear but my understanding is about 10mm not 40?!

Suspension help please (Not covered elsewhere)

Hi guys, 2 part question. From the previous owner my Nav has a 3 inch snake racing lift including constant load 450kg springs, extended shackles, UCA's, heavy duty drag link and tie rod ends. I use it up the high country a fair bit and it performs well off road. I have been reading up a lot on...
