Nissan Navara NP300 the saviour for die hard Nissan fans

^ have you actually driven one with the ys23ddtt?

    NP300 Fuel Economy

Spoke to the service advisor today about it, and he made a valid point. It's risk mitigation on Nissan Aus's behalf. Why? Who are you going to call when or if you run out of fuel? Your free Nissan roadside assistance that came with the purchase of the car. Less callouts = less cost to Nissan...

    Fuel Tank - 80 litres???

Recalibrating fuel level senders most likely, or altered firmware.

    NP300 Fuel Economy

My bad - warning came on at 1/8th of a tank with approximately 150km range left. Took 60l again.

    NP300 Fuel Economy

    It's not a safety issue.

    NP300 Fuel Economy

Just filled it with it's 2nd tank of diesel, 5k's after the warning light came on at 1/4 of a tank. Took 59l, calculated fuel economy was 9.8 vs 9 in the gauge cluster. So just on 1/4 of a tank on the gauge is fairly spot on with specified tank volume. Mine is a October 2015 build date.

    NP300 Fuel Economy

The diesel CX5 we had before the NP300, used to average 7.5-8l per 100. Mazda advertised 5.9l per 100. So it's not just Nissan advertising better than actual fuel economy.

    Exhaust upgrade

    Sweet, thanks for that.

    Exhaust upgrade

Have a look, I'm fairly sure it's 3" from the factory from the cat / dpf back. Haven't put any verniers on it though.

    Towing with aircon

    Ok - interesting!

    Towing with aircon

Also, if you're regularly carrying load and it is compressing to that degree, might be worth investing in some airbags inside the rear springs.

    Towing with aircon

Firstly, how much load are you towing? Either way, you're not going to be winning any races, ac on or off. Most new vehicles these days have quite efficient compressors, meaning that thier operation is usually pretty seamless and unnoticed by the driver.

    Towing with aircon

Any idea what the tongue load was? I wouldn't expect suspension compression to be that much with less than 300kg on the tongue. My car trailer when loaded with my circuit car has a down load of approx 120kg - the diesel CX5 before the NP300 used to sit level. I expect that the np300 will sit...

    Exhaust upgrade

Keen to see mate. Any chance you can dyno it with just the centre muffler removed? Will either prove or disprove Willall's TQ gains of 50nm.

    Light Bar location

Also interested. Was going to fit a lightbar up on the sports bar, but I'm not sure the light output in that spot would actually be any good. Currently planning on fitting one in the lower grill. My other option is round spotties on the sports bar.

    NP300 First Impressions?

Not that easy unfortunately. I'm kinda suprised they didn't at least put the 360 deg view in the st-x, considering the equivalent xtrail has it.

    Fuel Tank - 80 litres???

If it's such an issue, keep submitting feedback to Nissan Australia directly. I am supposedly halfway through the first tank in my st-x, and I'll fill it when the light comes on. If it takes less than 60l, ill be emailing Nissan Australia directly. It will all be in how the numbers are...

    Exhaust upgrade

Not sure if it's been posted already, but just sticking my head under the right side, the oe system is already 3" and fairly free of any bends that would cause any sizeable flow restrictions. Biggest impediment to flow is the centre muffler.

    NP300 First Impressions?

Agreed, on paper, Ranger is the goods. In reality, typical poor execution by Ford. Wildtrak is pretty crap value for money at $60+k.

    NP300 First Impressions?

Nissan Australia called me back about the feedback I sent, apparently ambient temp display is high on the agenda for the next firmware update. They haven't had any feedback about digital speed display in the ST-X gauge display, so please send them feedback requesting it!
