Steering wheel controls die and come back

Thanks for your help mate :) I’ve sent an enquiry to a parts supplier to get the right part number, and I’ll tackle it from there Am I likely to need a harmonic balancer remover to get off the wheel, or just some decent whacks?

Steering wheel controls die and come back

Ah, fair enough. Am I able to inspect the ribbon cable without taking the ensure unit out first? I tried testing the switches today, again it died after 5 minutes and died whilst driving in a straight line, so I’m still lost how this could be a cable or something to do with turning the wheel. I...

Steering wheel controls die and come back

If it was the clock spring, shouldn’t I also lose the horn and cruise controls? Or is there one for each set of switches and the horn?

Steering wheel controls die and come back

Hey guys, Went offroad for a 2 day trip this weekend and noticed yesterday toward the end of the day that my steering wheel controls had basically died. The backlight was fine, just the volume, tracks up and down, phone, and source button were unresponsive. The ‘i’ button was also not changing...

Where did you put your UHF radio?

Thanks for the tips guys, I've got the Spanish facelift D40 so I don't have that dip under the 4WD selector, it's just a continual matte silver piece from the AC controls all the way to the cup holders. I've bought a compact oricom unit with a 3dBi rubber ducky as I intend to use it in hilly...

Where did you put your UHF radio?

Hi all, Seeking suggestions on where you guys mounted your UHF radio inside your Navaras? I've got a 2012 Spanish ST D40 and I'm not sure where to mount the receiver unit. It's a compact sized one, but was hoping for some suggestions for where to put it based on ease of reach and not getting in...

    Outside temperature read-out disappeared?

Because they'll probably do even more damage, they don't offer courtesy cars or even a shuttle, and I can't afford the time off work. I'd rather pull my teeth out with pliers than have my car stuck there for another day.

    Outside temperature read-out disappeared?

Hi all. I just got my D40 back from Nissan (Spanish 2012 ST DC) after they replaced my heater core (dash out job) and as I feared, there's more electrical problems now than when I took the car in. Apart from the foglights no longer working and my indicator seeming to control my high beams (I...

Smoke coming from D40 air vents

They fixed it but caused 5 more problems.

Smoke coming from D40 air vents

I've looked as much as I can from the engine bay and I can't find the source It has to be one of the two. The car is under warranty (12 month stat warranty as used commercial vehicle) but I'm wary they'll reject the claim as the car was due for a service at 60,000 and I've just clocked 61,500...

Smoke coming from D40 air vents

I've taken a look at that heater hose junction area, no noticeable leak from there, but this is where I can see the coolant dripping: free image hosting ebay

There's a coolant leak from under the passengers side So what's broken?

Smoke coming from D40 air vents

Hi all, I have a Spanish 2012 ST D40, and noticed today that there's smoke coming out of the air vents, when with the AC and fan off (as in just air pressure coming through) It's white and smells like burnt coolant. Any ideas? Thanks

D40 Roof mounted lights - where to run power wires?

That could work, but there will still be a visible wire running down the back of the cab, into the cab via the vent, back through the cab out to the engine bay, then the battery. Just seems for me that would be a longer run of cable unnecessarily going into the cab when wires are still visible...

D40 Roof mounted lights - where to run power wires?

Hey everyone, I've got a 42" light bar on my roof rack, and was initially going to run the wire via the snorkel. After having the snorkel installed I realise that it doesn't come up high enough, and because it's basically all sealed, running wires into it might be difficult now. Anyone here...

D40 totally dead - then fine?

Will do Wouldn't I notice a bit of bad grounding though if they were dirty immediately prior? I don't get dimming headlights and I'm running a 160W RMS amp for my sound system.

D40 totally dead - then fine?

Hey guys, Something happened this morning, never had this before. Unlocked the car, jumped in, all lights dead. Car won't do anything when I try to turn over - not even a single light on the dash. Totally unresponsive as if battery was disconnected. I jumped out, checked battery and main fuses...

Tow bar pin - too small?

Well the guy who sold it to me reckons it has fit for everyone else including other Navaras he's sold to. I just can't get it through, the hitch is too wide and it misses by probably 5mm at most. Incredibly frustrating now I have to get a replacement pin that's rated high enough for recovery...

Tow bar pin - too small?

Just checking if anyone else has noticed that in the genuine Nissan Navara D40 tow package, the tow hitch is too wide to allow a standard sized pin? I can't get the lock through on my new recovery shackle, it's too short. Seems the car came with the genuine tow bar and ball merely secured in...

Spanish 2012 Navara ST - where is the Bluetooth module?

So, I've fixed it. The seller was no help and insisted I had a Bluetooth module. Turns out the Navara with the head unit I posted above do NOT have a Bluetooth module and it is actually inside the head unit - because my phone button now works and I didn't use the bypass. I actually cut off the...
