    Loss of power

I was driving along the Pacific Motorway today when my 2010 2.5L D40 Navara suddenly lost power. Initially I couldn't work out what was going on as there was no noise but the engine was still running but wouldn't do much over 2000rpm, and if or when it did, I could see plenty of black smoke in...

    Top radiator hose

Has anyone purchased a top radiator hose for a Thai built King cab D40 2.5L recently? Most Auto shops are asking anywhere from $50- $100 but my local dealer quoted me $21 for a genuine part after I gave him the VIN of my vehicle. I'm confused !!!!! Anyone with experience ?

    Cam chain replacement

My 3 year old D40 KingCab has now done 135, 000klm's and I'm starting to get paranoid about the cam chain, or a least getting it replaced. Admittadly, I know several people with D40's with well over 150,000klms on the clock that haven't had cam chain's replaced. But hey, they might be just...

    Gearbox oil change

Fellas, I usually get a mechanic to change the gearbox oil in my 2.5l Manual KingCab, but after having just bought 4 tyres and shockies, I thought, what the heck, If I can save a dollar I will change it myself. My neighbour has a Molnar hoist in his shed. So what I want to know is, is the...

    Changing interior light globe

Fellas, The interior light globe in my D40 Navara has blown. Does anyone now how to remove the cover from the light? I've poked, prodded and fiddled with the cover but haven't been able to remove it. I don't want to get too ham-fisted, just in case I break something. Anyone?

    Coil upgrade ?

Fellas, I've had my D40 King Cab for 6 months now and all is good except for one thing - front suspension. A few months ago I posted this thread http://www.navara.asia/d40-suspension-steering/4370-suspect-shockies.html because I thought my shockies were buggered and I was keen to hear...

    I lost my job

I just lost my job at the local swimming pool. Apparently it’s rude to tap on the "NO BOMBING SIGN" when a group of Muslims walk past.

    Arnhemland

Fellas, here's a few pics from my recent trip to Arnhemland in the NT. This pic was taken just after we crossed the East Alligator river into Arnhemland. This is real Crocodile Dundee country. This is near the headwaters of the Cooper ck which runs into the Arafura sea,it looks inviting but...

    Western Qld

A few weeks back my cousin and I took a run out to the lonely backblocks of far western Qld for a bit of R & R and to give our trial bikes a run, We did a little fishing - catching a few yellas,we even barrelled a few hogs. A few nights around the campfire,as well as a few cold beers was just...

    Suspect shockies

I've had my D40 KingCab for three months now and I reckon the shockies are buggered. Admittadly I've done 15,000klm in 3 months but I detected the problem about 5,000klms ago. Well I'm presuming its the shockies. My king cab handles awefully strange sometimes, especially on bad roads. I've hit...

    HID ballasts

I need some advice fellas. I'm about to get my old HID Hella Rallye 4000's rewired and fitted to my new D40 King Cab. There is limited space inside the engine bay to mount the ballasts so I was thinking about fitting them onto the very bottom of the nudgebar. Its plastic down there and I was...

    Delo 400

Fellas, I just started using Caltex Delo 400 in my D40 2.5td,but there is something I'm curious about. The oil is a very very dark in colour compared to many other oils I've used. Anyone else notice that ......or am I just too observant for my own good ?

    Oil recommendations

Well I've just clocked up the first 2,000klms in my new manual 2.5td D40 KingCab,so I thought I'd start looking at engine oil options now rather than leaving it to the last minute. According to the owners manual a CF4 oil is required for 2.5td engines without a DPFilter. Well, after looking at...

    Stud pattern

Fellas, Do Thai and Spanish built D40's have a different wheel stud patterns ? The reason I ask is because I saw some D40 STX alloys on Ebay and the add said they would only fit a Spanish made Navara. Can anyone confirm this ? Thanks in advance.
