Thanks for the reply - I had also assumed that and it does run but we do have a few other issues to be resolved yet. The temp gauge is not reading and also the engine management light starts flashing on restarting after a short test run. The engine smells hot.

We have carried out an engine swap on our 2003 model with a like for like engine but a lower milage 2004 model. Would the ECU still be the same.

I need to test the resistance of the coolant temp sensor. Does anyone know what the cold and hot resistance should read.
