    Stone chips

Anyone come up with a solution to the stone chips that are occuring on the back of the cab? Mudflaps on the front side of the rear wheels?

    LPG burning pistons?

I've had my Hilux on LPG for ages and no problems at all. However, like anything added on - people can tinker with them and the short term gain of power can wreck the motor. I have mine dyno tuned by the original installer which also measures EGT. Definately not something I play with. The...

    Odd engine braking

Something a bit odd happening with the D40. As I go down hill for an extended period of time, the engine braking seems to come on significantly. Thats not the best description. As I'm coasting down hill, it suddenly brakes, engine revs go up, and according to my Scangauge, Kws drop to 0.00...

    Pollen filter and canopy/tub sealing - D40

I'm interested in this idea of pumping the cooling ventilation into the rear but does the D40 have vents to the rear seats? I had a look while ago and couldn't see any but I could have been a slacko at the time.

    Pollen filter and canopy/tub sealing - D40

Not surprised, just looking for a solution. I am looking at either putting in an independent unit in the canopy or a second unit from the vehicles air cond setup. I would prefer the 2nd solution and I'll price it out when i get days off.

    Pollen filter and canopy/tub sealing - D40

Heat in the back is an issue for us. We have a canopy with 2 side windows, front window and a pressure vent. Used a digital thermometer to monitor the temp and it didn't drop at all. So on the day we drove around, outside was 30-32, the inside canopy was 31. Frustrating!

    Radiator temperature?

So you think the bar work impeded the airflow?

    Radiator temperature?

Thanks for the info. Fantastic. Qld have a slim line plate. Something I may look at if the current one is impeding the flow. We have a short 11% hill, about 2-3 kms, which I travel every day from work. The temp does creep up to 100 degrees on this (unloaded - though I am fat??). Maybe one...

    Radiator temperature?

Just spoke to a Nissan Service manager and he suggests that 102-103 should be the acceptable max. if it hits this, throw on the heater and drop the temp. He also mentioned a secondary cooling fan cuts in around this level - anyone know of this?

    Radiator temperature?

I've installed the Scangauge II and its all great but.. Now that I can read a digital temp, what is considered to be to hot? I'm going to be towing a caravan and this is something I want to monitor. Unloaded, it sits at around 93 degrees.

    DPF Sensor

Found this interesting article on the DPF. Overlander 4WD :: View topic - A Explanation for Bad Fuel Economy on Navara and Pathfinder. This could well explain variations in the D40 economy and perormance. If the DPF requires clearing, the fuel mixture is enriched to burn off the soot, hence...
