Just an update if anyone is following this... I changed the fuel filter - 2 weeks great and then issue returned. Gave up and took it to a mechanic - he said I hadn't fit the filter correctly and charged me to rotate it. He also fit the new AC sensor I provided and regassed the AC. He called...

The lines and primer bulb seem okay, at least to my untrained/novice eye. I may have to bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic...cut to hours trawling internet reviews of local mechanics!

Hi, apologies for the delay. You've lost me to be honest, Tony. I couldn't make nor tails of the data. I pumped the primer after changing filters, it goes pretty hard after 15 pumps. Not solid but definitely harder than it started. I ran a can of purge through it and swapped out the fuel...

Thanks @bods, I'll try to pick up a fuel filter today. I ran a bottle of Nulon Diesel Fuel System Extreme Clean through about half a tank ago - do you reckon I should put the Liquimoly Diesel Purge through too? If so, I'll pick one up when I get out to the shop as I'll have to fill at some...

Okay, I'll pick one up tomorrow. As for the pressure when it threw the code, it'll be on the same log. I've added a screenshot (marked) roughly where I believe the code popped up prior to me pulling over and wiping it.

No, I haven't replaced the fuel filter since buying it - is there a recommended brand or can I just head to Repco/Supercheap/Cheapa and pick up the one they stock? I've had a look at the log but it's all foreign to me. According to the .csv file, at idle (800ish RPM) fuel rail pressure seems...

Thanks, @bods and @ericcs Well, it appears I spoke too soon. After about 7 or 8 trips and no issues with the electronic brake controller disconnected, I decided to stop logging OBDII data and go back to using my Bluetooth for something else - 2 or 3 trips in and "limp mode" is back! The...

Okay, so just a quick update. I unplugged the brake controller (connector on rear) and have had no issues since. Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon but after 6 trips, albeit short ones, I'm feeling fairly confident. Thanks for all the help, guys. It's very much appreciated.

If I completely remove it then I'll let you know mate.

Hey bods, okay, thanks. Not sure if you saw the earlier post which has led me to disconnecting the brake controller or not but, Tms40 has suggested that is possibly the cause of my limp mode. If the brake controller is actually what's causing the issues, do you believe that just unplugging the...

Driving without an AC pressure switch/sensor?

Okay, thanks for that. I appreciate the reply.

Okay, thanks. So, will I need to completely uninstall the unit or can I just disconnect the power supply at the battery, leaving everything else in situ? By everything else, I mean the connection to brake light switch/pedal and trailer connection. There's always the possibility that I or...

Driving without an AC pressure switch/sensor?

Replacing the AC pressure switch So, replacing the switch/transducer (or whatever you want to call it) is simply connect the electrical connector at one side, screw on at the other. Does anyone know how to unscrew the old one without losing - and getting covered in - a load of gas? Thanks

Hi ericcs. It's a Tekonsha Primus IQ. After a quick Google, these look like a plug and play device - is that right? Whereabouts do they plug into the vehicle? Hi, Tony. I ended up using "Nulon Diesel Fuel System Extreme Clean" as it had good reviews on Supercheap. I've barely run it...

Hi mate, I actually do have an electronic brake controller fitted. It was already on the vehicle when I purchased it but honestly, I can't ever really imagine needing it. I don't have a boat, a campervan or a car trailer. How would I go about disconnecting it? It is straight forward? When I...

D40 2.5D Auto (Spanish) Limp mode and more...

Hi Tony. Maybe I didn't explain that very well. It wasn't the connector of the AC pressure switch that broke, it was that the plastic part came away from the metal threaded part (see picture). It was when I unscrewed this threaded part that I got covered in lovely cooling gas. I've ordered a...

Driving without an AC pressure switch/sensor?

Hi, not sure if this should be here or the engine section but anyway... So, I stuffed my AC pressure switch - the high side one, located driver's side front, just by the radiator - and am awaiting delivery of a new one. While I wait, would it be safe - as in, cause no damage - for me to drive...

Reservoir replaced...now the A/C pressure switch is stuffed! So, picked the ute up last night and drove home. Started fine. About 2 minutes down the road limp mode started. As the road was quiet/empty I decided not to pull over, instead, I just tried revving it - maybe it is in true limp...

Hi Tony, to be honest, I had just started to unplug electrical bits when I had to use the ute to go to a relative's place. I ended up having a few drinks and so, as a result, left it there. Should be picking it up this weekend. Had a look under my neighbour's bonnet at the location of the...

Yeah okay, I didn't risk it anyway. I didn't want to get stuck with a $100 hamster bottle. Ended up plumping for a Dayco one that looked, from provided images, pretty much the same as the cheaper one but was listed as the correct one for my VIN. The Dayco ones seem to have decent reviews from...
