If your running a GPS for your speed you could possibly make the connection not exist. It might not be legal though, but after all it would only be an electrical circuit or 2 that could easily be reconnected.

Looks like you will be needing at least a new head. You won't know for sure till you strip the top end off the motor.

With the radiator out of the way it can be done easily, just need to ensure that all the bolts are out and the harness isn't going to get damaged. Putting it back in is harder!!

446ks on a factory clutch here, and it is always loaded and towing. It really just comes down to the person operating the equipment.

I bet that you have a major issue happening with the timing chain and tensioners. How can I be sure? What you have described about it is exactly what mine did, it is most noted when coming off the power and going down hill. I got 446ks out of mine.

Connect a positive wire from the battery to the glow plugs buzz bar. If it still doesn't start like that its something else that's wrong.
