    Purchased 2nd hand @ 125k, serviced as per book, just really missed what should be a service item, Have heard same engine idling, in a low k vehicle thinking just didn't get to in time. but it would be one of the most ill-conceived under-engineered components on an other-wise half decent...

    This vehicle is my wife's daily drive, I drive it rarely, Even though there is no "service schedule" for this item, I would now treat it as a serviceable item, as a timing belt etc., i.e. R&R at/prior to 80k. I feel dumb/sheepish, saying it now. I think, I did hear some chain noise at cold start...

    Yep, Did a bit more research & reading, striped covers off checked chains, no damage other than chain/sprockets, head off tomorrow to check & send. if all ok, Ill stick with what I've got, & get a retro chain kit. Was really disappointed to see the auxiliaries reliant on "a bicycle chain"...

    G'day chaps, just purchased a 07 D40 STX TD auto,dual cab, to upsize the wifes 90' surf, after 6-12mths of looking thought it was the best affordable vehicle for our needs & wants.
