    D22 snorkel

I fitted my snorkle that required the blinker to be moved (was from ebay, ldpe plastic and still going strong). Blinker move is easy enough, traced the line from the supplied template and drilled + filed. Didn't take long and in my opinion worth it to keep that indicator. measure three...

    EGR mod?

Agree 100% with this. As an added note, I bought my ute 2nd hand with 160k on it with no mods. I fitted a blanking plate for the egr, and when I took the pipe off the inlet to the intake manifold, it looked half blocked with gunk. So I took the inlet manifold off to have a proper look, and what...

    Taking the dump pipe off?

The three bolt flange you are talking about is the bottom of your existing dump pipe, which is also your catalytic converter (honeycomb). It is joined to the turbo by 5 bolts, which you can get to once the heat shield is off. It also has a mount which from memory I had to get at from underneath...

    NO-LIMIT Tuning chip from Germany

I'll answer my own question here in case anyone else is interested. They do a chip for the ZD30 non CRD. It connects to the pump and ECU, so assume from Northsides comments that perhaps it adjusts the signal going from the ecu to the spill valve control unit. Cost 159 delivered. They are...

    NO-LIMIT Tuning chip from Germany

Hi, I can only see common rail (2.5) listed on ebay and on their website. Did you get one for the ZD30 non common rail?? I was hanging out for a chipit chip, but a $150 chip might tide me over until I can justify to myself the need for a $1200 chip. Cheers, Bohun

    DIY 3" Exhaust

What did you use for the turbo flange? I couldn't find one anywhere... I ended up buying a dump pipe with high flow cat as I had a moment of weakness for legality.

    d22 wont start sometimes

Sounds a bit like a negative (no pun intended) problem to me. If it happens again, grab a jumper cable and connect to the block and the negative terminal of the battery. If it then starts, check your negative cable for corrosion etc at the battery side and the dodgy bolt onto the body of the...

Project cars besides the Nav ?

Depends on the car... the R8 parts can be hard to find, but most renaults there has been a gazillion built. I've had lots over my car history, and parts have been cheap and easy to find. Ebay really helps too!

Project cars besides the Nav ?

Wow I thought I was the only one... I have a renault 8 also! Had one as my first car when I was 14, and used to do club level gymkhana/autocross with it. Regretted the day I sold it! SO stupidly bought another one to restore. Also building a Formula Libre hill climb car. 85% complete (has been...

Nissan D22 CHIP NOW AVAILABLE WITH 62% INCREASE WITH CHIP IT POWER PACKAGE

Will the charts posted be for a non common rail Patrol? I know that there s a CR model of the ZD30. Should give us a good idea if it one of the older motors the same as ours. I'm saving my pennies for one of these chips with EGT gauge... trouble is everyone else seems to want my money, as soon...

Just a pic of my D22 with new rims

Oz got two models, the DX which had nothing, except air con, and the STR which had all the goodies (electric windows, rear bar, sports bar, carpet, airbag?, some decals on the side of the tub, central lock?, ABS?). I think there was not much price wise between the two when new, so lots of STR...

Just a pic of my D22 with new rims

Its a DX, so never came with a rear bumper (think that's right, I'm the second owner). Cheers. Now has D40 sports bar... and I'm trying to work out how to make a folding rear hard cover that is water proof. I've worked out the cover... but not how to waterproof it!

    Fitting Rear Springs

Agree! I've done mine three times now. The originals out is the worst though, with a stuck pin.

    Torsion bar change

I also think that maybe it is better to wind the nut from the top, and hold the bottom. Thats just my theory though and someone with an engineering background probably knows if this is less srain on the bolt or not. It is however how I do up all other nuts/bolts... so probably should have done...

    Torsion bar change

Sorry to pull up a month old thread, but I wanted to add my experience in with adjusting the torsion bars on my 2001 D22, as no one has mentioned the possible danger with doing this! I put some 45mm rear leaf springs in the rear and decided to wind the torsion bars up as I did not want stiffer...

    Suspension Upgrade?

Just FYI, Toe in/out you got right, but Camber is the other way. / \ is negative camber... and what you want a small amount of most of the time. Raising the car increases positive camber, and lowering increases negative camber (that's why you see the 'cool' dudes with cars scraping the ground...
