I have pretty much read everyones comments regarding navara D40 issues. My 07, manual is yet to replace the original clutch with 130K on the clock, But the following has been fixed under warranty, Full replacment of timing chain, idlers, gears, oil pump. New rims as the originals were faulty...

My guess would be timing chains and guides, it would be worth checking it out even if it's not the problem. Cheers.

Thanks guys, my speedo is about 5-7km/h slower doing 100km/h, 75's will help recover lost speed and maybe improve fuel as well ??????.

Manufacturing fault may or maynot be the problem, people I have spoken to think that extended oil changes(ie 15000km oil changed instead of 10000km) results in extra wear and tear. The guides and tensioner especially dont seem to handle older/thinner oil which in turn leads to more heat from...

Do you think running the 75 series tyre is a better option over the standard 70series

My 06 patrol ute has Yoko Goelander ats fitted and have done 75000kms easily, both offroad and road driving, not one puncher and drives fantastic. Will definatly try them on my 07 navara stx dualcab, see how they drive. Cheers.
