Hey Lovely People, i am really starting to get upset with Nissan, i have owner Nissans my whole life, from skylines to patrols to now a NAVARA. purchased this car for $26,000 - already got ripped off, when i found a better car after purchase 2months later for cheaper. but besides all this and that...

this is now the 3rd radiator i have put in my navara.
first one the trans cooler pushed up into the radiator and put 2 lovely holes thru the bottom tank. second one the top tank mounts broke off and now the 3rd one. same problem. is there a better radiator i can get for my car. is there one preferred made out of stronger materials other then shitty plastic.

perhaps steel/metal ? even aluminium that will fit a SPAIN BUILT - VSK D40 V6 Petrol Nav 2008 model 4.0 auto

hope someone can help.
cheers

if this brakes after this mod, im serious going to buy a TOYOTA HILUX :saberfighting::yeahright:

how are you damaging the Radiators? if you have pushed the cooler up into the radiator sounds like you have no bash plates??
The D40 radiator is quite low and vulnerable as you no doubt realise, even with cheap bash plates they have still copped hits that have caused probs.
As said above i have heard of some breaking but from impact i have never heard of them just falling apart and with you going through three at a guess it sounds like something else is going on.

As for the Lux they are not with out issues, most of my relos and mates own them and they seem to have more probs then people like to admit. My cousin has just finished replacing his rad in his Lux he has also done the injectors at 115k and so have all the others i have ever known.
That only cost them between $4500 and $6500.

thanks grasshoper can you recommend anyone from perth thats good with this stuff?

and
thanks for the fast reply's guys. yeah i have to get bash plates once i get a good radiator. do you recon that one on ebay will do the trick Aussie Frontier, looks pretty strong. will it fit my car though if its not genuine, dont wanna spend $600 then find out it wont fit. looks the same.

nathand22 - any good bash plates you can recommend. - old saying if it doesnt break you aint going hard or far enough, i didnt get the car to drive it on the road, i wanna knock it around a bit, im just annoyed the plastic tips break off the top of the radiators and the bottom is so low without protection as standard. didnt know that until i smashed it the first time, second time was top plastic snaps and third time same, not my fault that thing rocks around when i go up and down offroad.

Yeah mate Brown Davis or ARB are the only ones i would recommend, The Brown Davis Are prob the strongest when it comes to radiator protection, having said that i have used ARB plates i have used on both my 2010 and my 2012 and do allot of off road work and havent had any issues as yet, touch wood.

3 Radiators! Something is going on here. Yes they are on the low side but 3! Its sound like there is something underlying here that requires more deeper investigation or it's an operation thing.

Navaras are a good light to medium duties truck but they are no 70 something series Toyota or Nissan Patrol and should be driven as such.

Just about all utes in this league are pretty good but the Hilux will be no panacea. Just about every make has it's own little issues.

Anyway good luck with it. I hope you get it sorted.

im going to see a Nissan specialist. someone who knows there stuff. and get them to take a look at it. will get back to everyone about this.

before and after pics

this is the verdict so far...

does anyone know where i can get a replacement for this broken part, when the radiator moves it snapped this stupid thing off, car seems to work fine with or without it connected. but i have managed to connect it back the way it goes but it comes off from time to time when radiator hits it because the top mounts broken again.

Never buy a Radiator from SSS automotive. ****ing 2nd one thats broken, 1st one was standard and it didnt break at the top but broke at the bottom which i will admit the first radiator was my fault. but ill explain this bit later when i have some more time. that this was my fault. and im now seeking help for fixing this properly :)

"Screams for Help" Nissan Experts where are you.

ohhhh i also said i would upload some pics of what happened to my last radiator

these keep snapping off (attached)

so the reason i ordered and got the heavy duty one is because it cant snap if its not made out of plastic unless it really gets hammered. which it doesnt. dunno why these keep breaking.

do i have bad radiator support or something.?

btw im not installing these. and im not damaging them they just snap and come loose when offroad. long story.
