Default D40 Timing chain issue - ad nauseam

I'm sure this issue has had lots of exposure on this forum....my D40 is going well but with 75'000km coming up I am told that my timing chain may need replacing....there is a huge amount of varying comments available in relation to this problem...I'd like to cut to the chase.
My opinion based on what I have been able to determine 'fact from fiction' is that I would be advised to replace the chain and that I should have a duplex chain modification carried out...my question therefore is directed to anyone on here who may have fair dinkum information....i.e. not something they read somewhere.
I live in Brisbane I am considering having the duplex chain modification performed by a professional here, has anyone had this job done and if so I would love to hear from you....who did the job, how much was it and are you satisfied?

Many Thanks,
Paul.

The timing chain does wear out prematurely with some models, depending where there made originally. not sure if 75 k would require a new chain as this seems a little low in life. is your chain making any noises ? you can get the chain free play measured to see if the chain is stretched. there is a nissan specialist in brisbane that does this work plus supplies the dual row chain kits etc etc. i can,t think of there name but someone else on the forum will name this specialist. so don,t be too concerned yet as any ticking noises etc most often turn pout to be something simple from what i have heard.

It's probably yd25.com.au that you are talking about.

To the OP, I would just get yours checked out by them, appears to only take 10 mins.

"Don't stress about your timing chain. We do free timing chain check using a Pico Scope. This is hi end diagnostic equipment found in few workshops. We show you on the computer the exact digital readout of the crankshaft and camshaft position captured over 30 pages. After this check you will be fully informed as to the status of your timing chain. You need to book in for this check. The check takes about 10 minutes to do. We do the check at out premises next to the Brisbane airport."
