Tub size changes? What years?

Hi Navvers,


Did a quick search of this part of the forum (to no avail) after I heard the tray size had a small change at some point?

I have a second hand canopy lined up for the new 2010 ST arriving and thought i better find out.

I know the 2009 D22 tub changed by 100mm in 2010 but I'm not sure about the D40, what model is the canopy off?

Yeah - Krafty off a D40, will need to find out year- i just assumed they were all the same

Maybe the new STX (140kw in 2010?) changed?

The 09 may go back as far as 06 but I can't guarantee it, but there is slight differences between 09 and 10

You also have to remember that the ST has only been around since late 09 maybe early 10 so you may not get a direct comparison before the ST was released.

Thanks Krafty, 7mm narrower and 2mm shorter. Not much difference, odd- why would they bother, but the stx is still the old.

Well its worth a gamble, at worst there will be a quality used canopy for sale on here!

The reason they bother is because of the different locations in manufacturer, the STX comes off the same line at the Pathy's in Spain and the rest come from Thialand where they have smaller measure tapes.

It will really depend on the canopy, if I was paying money for one there is no way I'd risk even a 7mm difference given that some canopies are a tight fit anyway but if I wasn't paying I'd definitely try a smaller canopy on a larger tub to see it if fitted.

The problem with the canopy being skinnier will be the strain you put on it's mounting points, whether they be "J" bolts or drilled holes you could easily deform the canopy with too much force and deforming the canopy can lead to sealing issues and door/window fittment issues. 7mm doesn't sound like much but and I have never tried comparing an ST canopy to an STX canopy but if dollars were involved I'd get the one made for it rather than going through the hassle of trying to sell a canopy, there is too many already for sale that people don't want for one reason or another.
