Hi guys first post.
Went to change out my leaf springs yesterday and got stuck trying to get the get the new pack lined up with the hole in the axle.
I only did one side, put front pin in first then attached up the shackle. When I jacked up the axle the hole and leaf pack where off by about 15mm.
Anybody have this problem? Was thinking ratchet strapping into position but haven't seen anything about doing this on a d22.

Cheers j

are the shackles in the right way. dunno if the d22 shackles are the same design as d40 ones but d40's are offset

Yeah, I did mine not long ago and had to ratch strap the passenger side to get it in, went an got a wheel alignment done afterwards and they said it wasn't out much.

I did my d22 and my d40 the same way first I fitted the shackle then the U bolts to the diff then I jacked the diff while guiding in the front it only required a bit of a jiggle and the front pin went straight in.

Yeah the shackles are the same both ways. Haven't had time to look today but il take it back apart tomorrow and try starting a different way. Seems so easy but has me stumped, hopefully get it.

All good! Just finished getting them. I did what simsy said by starting with the shackles and pins. I then jacked up the diff while ratchet strapping at the same time. Used a chisel between the chassis and the leaf eye at the pin to guide it into place. Once it was near, whacked the pin in and done.
Thanks for the help lads!
