Ctek D250S Dual charger on Smart alternator D40

I purchase this recently from forum member and trying to install on D40.
While I was researching I notice with newer model D40 with smart alternator requires to be installed differently.

got me thinking. so diagram tells me to connect power from alternator to solar panel connection on d250s instead of alternator using 30A relay.
what would happen if I installed without relay, I won't be using solar panel anyway. If someone out there got D250S on newer model correctly. I need answer here ;p
Notice few other people on forum having issue I assume they installed incorrectly to newer model d40's
 
If you installed it without the relay, it would be powered on all the time and drain your cranking battery in no time. The relay is simply there to turn the unit off when you turn the ignition off. If you rather you can do the "green wire mod" that quite a few have done, making the alternator put out enough voltage all the time to keep the unit working as it should.

so do i just cut out green wire? from alternator plug?
 
Apparently can do. Some people have just removed the wire from the plug (popped the pin out of the casing) which does the same thing, but can plug back in if you feel the need..

since you are here.. can you tell me where the plug is located beside the one on top of alternator? from what i read on forum posts. it's located next to ecu. but i need in detail ;p i did try pull out harness on -ve connection. but i would personally prefer pull out pin on infamous "green wire" everyone is talking about ;p cheers
 
Sorry bud, I've got a d22 so don't have that problem. I'll see if I can find the thread where someone mentioned removing the wire from the plug.
