I would like to welcome anyone here from Brisbane on our next group event, details below;

Double Island Point Weekend Getaway
Come along and join us for a great weekend at Cooloola, Double Island Point which lies between the coastal towns of Noosa Heads and Rainbow Beach.

Meeting Point Info:
Saturday: Meeting point will be the Caboolture North BP Connect northbound service station in the truck parking area at the back at 7:30am on Saturday 9th of April. Departure time will be 8:30am on the dot. Please stay in a convoy when possible.
Upon arrival at the meeting point, please have event waiver signed. It is a requirement for every one attending trips with this group and supplying contact information for safety reasons. Further details are supplied relating to this on the day and waiver is downloadable at the bottom of the page. Please print and fill out our event waiver which can be found in the files section of the group as well. (This must be presented with each 4x4 vehicle attending)
At the meeting point prior to the trip departure we will have a pre-trip chat as a group and run through all relevant information relating specifically to the trip to ensure everyone attending is clear on all details about the trip. This will be very important on the day so we all stay together!!!
Travelling Times:
Please ensure you check the travel times from your location to the meeting point. You can use e.g. Google Maps to determine travelling times. Make sure you give yourself plenty of extra time to organise yourself so we don't leave without you.
Some examples for travelling times: Logan to BP Caboolture - 48min, 69 km Gold Coast to BP Caboolture - 1 hour 29 min, 131 km Ipswich to BP Caboolture - 1 hour 8min, 79km
Catering: There will be no catering provided, please bring all food, drinks, camping and cooking equipment you may need.
Camping: Teewah Beach camping area will be our selected camp which allows open fires along the beach side. Camping permits are available at http://parks.nprsr.qld.gov.au/permits/ Please book online to save delays when travelling in convoy.
Noosa North Shore Barge:
As it’s a requirement to use the barge to cross the Noosa River when coming to from the south there is a small fee each way to ride the barge.
Standard cars - 2WD & 4WD Up to 5.75m $7.00
Standard cars with caravans or trailers Up to 4.75m $14.00 Standard cars with caravans or trailers Up to 7.75m $16.00

Vehicle access permit:
Cooloola Recreation Area 1 calendar day obtained via the internet = $11.40 not obtained via the internet = $17.10 1 week or less = $28.65 1 month or less = $45.10 more than 1 month (up to 1 year) = $226.30 This can also be purchased online at http://parks.nprsr.qld.gov.au/permits/
