Q: What does the GT stand for on a Ford?
A: Glued together!

Q: How come Ford makes tractors and Holden doesn’t?
A: Holden can’t get one to run that slow!

Q: How do you double the value of a Ford?
A: Park it beside a Navarra

Did you know that 98% of all Fords ever built are still on the road?
The other 2% made it home!!

Q: What do you call someone who buys a second hand ford?
A: Scrap Dealer

Keep out motorways clear, beautiful and user friendly.
So leave your Ford at home

Ford...At least they circled the problem.:

And to think Nissan is partly owned by Ford

Maybe you guys should go buy a Hand On Little Dick Every Night Rodeo and let your real ute go to a real man!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

i thought it was nissan and holden that shared engines.
eg, VL turbo, n13 ca18de, rb30....?? or am i wrong?

Traded our ford for the Navara - Missus finaly saw the light and realised how impractical our overpriced taxi pack was.
EL XR6 that ate suspension bushes, tyres, brake pads and discs between services. Ange bought it new back in 97.
Good point about it was that even at 340k it was still on its original clutch and engine - albeit the engine managed to drink 3l of oil every 10000 and that clutch would have been paper thin. Traded it on the Nav and the strangest coincidence happened. Driving home from work on the Calder a few weeks after we had dropped it off and collected the new car I saw the missus going in the opposite direction in the Nav as she had been called in to work that arfternoon and not 2 minutes later I pulled up at a set of lights in Taylors lakes right beside the Falcon. I couldn't believe the chances of that happening.
It was being driven by a young fella so I doubt that original clutch is still going.

hey hey enough bagging out fords!! i work for ford... and the old ones are great... thats where i'll leave my opinion! This is a nissan forum!!

Nissan have never been owned by Ford, they swapped some cars; maverick (patrol) Nissan ute (falcon XF) Corsair (U12 Pintara)... but they did the same with holden. Ford owned Land rover and Jag, there now owned by TATA India but ford have some ownership of motor design etc. Ford own part of mazda...in australia 33% i think. They own Volvo, lincoln, mercury, and some of aston martin. what do holden own... oh wait they are owned...by the same "company" that owns SAAB and Daewoo!!!! nuf said :elefant:

plus we all know nissans are the best!! Pootrolls, navs and GTR skylines what else could you want

Aido, I did much the same thing. Traded a three year old BA XR6 on the D22 that I should have bought to begin with. The XR was a nice car though. Seems I am one of the few that had no problems with mine. I would probably still have it if I had bought an XR6T, but then I doubt I would still have a license.

Renault are Nissans owner now. After a few flase starts it looks like that has worked out. Renault kept them from going under and it does not appear that too much Renault oddity has crept in! I wonder if there has been some cross pollination and Renaults now have more reliable electronics.

Ford are scrapping the Falcon

Holden are exporting the Commodore to America and selling it badged as a Pontiac and the Americans love them thinking they are American Muscle.

Nuff said......

Flame Suit On!!!

I believe Ford are only scrapping the wagon not the entire Falcon range and it's not overly suprising when you see the sales figures of wagons compared to vehicles that can actually carry some payload.

As for the Holden US deal it's not going as well as they expected and there is talk that exports will drop low enough to not make it viable. The last thing I read about the Holden deal was that if they can't secure it soon with large numbers Holden will have to pull out and concentrate on other overseas markets.

The automotive press have also been saying that Ford have been in talks with the US to export the Falcon as pursuit cars as well so the few roses that are blooming aren't all blooming on one side of the fence.

i am a ford lover (d40 is work and family thing ) and the biggest thing to bring to the table is that i am a ford and holden specialist (machanic by trade ) And once you work on both your soon come to the fact holdens and much more anonoying and shit to work on and they no longer doing a wagon anymore because the lack of sales in bf wagons and they have the mondeo wagon that is selling quiet well and plus the have the territory that is a wagon on steroids that is were the maket is at the moment with familys wanting a wagon the is higher and more safe (because they think there higher there safer )

Ah yes but when a mechanic talks about Ford reliability he's actually discussing the income stream.....
