Diesel engine runs backwards when trying to start.

Its not my car so im not on some of the details, a photo attached to identify the engine model. Car was being driven at 110kph and had done about 50ks since the last stop, then the engine just cut out and would not start again. It had a new fuel filter fitted about 200ks prior and there was...

Where to buy V9X Oil Filter Socket ?

They dont need a special filter remover, it is a bit hard to get at but you should be able to get one from a auto parts supplier, there are many sorts available but only a few will do the job. You will also need a special tool to undo the sump plug!! I had a 3/8" socket extension machined down...

    Wheel studs - where from?

I would go for the Nissan ones though they are very expensive, good insurance. You will pay around $40 for a stud an nut set. They are dead easy to replace.

    550 service and oil intervals?

Nulon DOESNT meet the C4 requirement, it is C3 which isn't much different and is ok to use.

Checking level of 550 transmission oil

The 550 doesn't have a transmission dipstick. Off hand I'm not sure which is which, but on the sump there is 2 recesses, one is to check the level- when the bung is removed if oil runs out then it is ok, if none runs out then it needs to be topped up through the other hole. The transmission...

    cooper discoverer a/t3

I have recently fitted them to my D40 about 6 weeks ago, so it is a bit hard to tell. They aren't much dearer than others, being a light truck tyre they are a harsh on corrugation etc, on the straight they are quiet, turning there is some noise.

    Ironman helper leaf

I had the helpers fitted to my D40 towing a caravan a bit over 2 tonne, they will lift the back as high as you like but of course a stiffer ride. I glued some insertion rubber on the top of the helper over the u bolt to soften the noise, this helps but I don't think it is a long term solution...

    D40 rear Ironman springs

ONLOCK, I suspect this may only be a problem on 2006 early 2007 models. The Ironman dealer has a 2008 D40 and his has the 19mm bolt hole.

    D40 rear Ironman springs

I have a 2006 D40 auto and have been trying to fit some ironman springs to the rear. I am wondering if anything has changed with the later models from the earlier ones. My original springs have bush sizes of 39 mm Outside diameter and a 14 mm inside diameter, front and rear. The ones supplied by...

D40 rear diff pinion oil seal

Hm might try that, though walking in and getting one straight over the counter would be easier. All diffs have the crush problem, if you do it right and the seal hasn't been replaced a few times it should not be a problem.

D40 rear diff pinion oil seal

Hi I am having trouble getting an after market pinion oil seal for the rear diff, the local dealer wants $100 which is daylight robbery. Does anyone know if you can get an aftermarket seal?? if so where from and how much. I'm in WA so a local source would be preferred, I have tried Repco and...
