I just installed the egr blanket plate last weekend and experience just the same as you describe here. Nice little improvement.
Interested to see how the chip goes.
Yeah.. The cons that you outlined was exactly what I read when I did a bit of research. Especially don't need extra strain on the driveline if avoidable. And your right, technology has come along way - that's why alloys are in them in the first place lol
Lucky, almost bought some steelies...
Hey everybody,
Would you guys ( and girls ) recommend swapping out the stock alloy mags for a set of steel rims ( I'd get black ones ) purely for the sake of strength, durability and 4wd performance ( no cracking in the rougher stuff )
Any particular brands of black steel rims ?
Always though...
Please excuse my lack of knowledge.. But what is this ' egr block ' and ' fit an oil can catch ' mod you speak of? Thanks
Edit - i just checked out some stickies on this. But the egr sticky is about the zd30 it seems
Thanks.. That's good to know. I plan to get an ARB front bar and rear to start. Do they take the rear steps away when doing the rear bar to get that extra 70mm clearance? Side rails maybe in the future.
So the d22 doesn't need the 2in lift really hey?
30mm will allow good clearance and access?
Yep! Me too haha! One step at a time and hopefully get the truck set up good.
They tell me the Old Man Emu suspension lift/ upgrade is not about ride height but more handling etc. Only a 30mm lift on the d22 with there's. Hope that would be enough?
I agree here. I like the truck look as well. And yes, if i was super cashed up I would of got the Ranger too ( but then I would of missed out on being here :) )
Look what the Yanks are driving around in ! Holy shit balls !!!
What the hell is this thing .. Haha
Even though the D40 looks bland, all those extras you mention here do make a lot of sense when deciding which to buy :)
Especially more room for the kids in the back and the safety features
