Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and am new to owning a D40. So far my D40 is running like a dream and I'm loving every minute of it. I have recently read threads on Timing chain failures. is it really as common as people say? I was told that only earlier models are affected (mines 09 Spain build)...
yeah I decided to go with some diesel injector cleaner. I filmed the exhaust before and after, the results were pretty good. How regular do you normally clean your injectors?

It's funny that you mention the diesel purge because earlier today I was shown how to do it. But then I got shown something completely different to what I was originally told, by that I mean, which is the inlet and outlet? do you have any pics you can post of inlet and outlet that...
My D40 is blowing an alarming amount of white smoke after driving for 6-7 kilometers(I think it's white, can't tell because it's so dark when it happens early in the morning. It does it only on cold mornings just on idle every couple weeks (it doesn't smoke while driving) I checked all the fluid...

Yes it does get worse when turning. under acceleration too.
I hit a massive mud hole and had to get winched out. Blokes who winched me said it sounded like the left cv was gone.. finished the day in 2WD
That's aleviated some concerns.
Any truth to that comment about the tranny being affected? heard some knocking noises for 5-6 minutes on the way to work this morning..
