Did you replace the shocks with brand new ones of second handies? if they're second hands I'd be inclined to think they're maybe leaking?

Yeah absolutely happy_john.... I told the mechanics last week when it was in for a service that the issue may have been turbo related... "oh no no it wouldn't be the turbo" they said "it's still a new car" they said... Even Nissan said this morning they didn't think it would be turbo related...

Ok... so my pickle I'm currently in has an outcome.. I dropped the car into Nissan this morning and their tech guy has phoned as they've taken it for two road tests and had two mechanics looking over it. Conclusion.... turbo is rooted, all the inlet seals are gone and the fins are damaged...

I've got it booked in to a dealership tomorrow for a looks, they seem to think from the description I've given them it's hopefully something simple. Car's still covered under warranty so that's a plus

The turbo is still spooling but it's as if that boost pressure isn't being released. After the car shunted it then struggled a little to make it to 70kms/hr and then keeping that speed. Just a complete loss of power.

No mate, not white smoke out the back. Another mate of mine is thinking it might be the compressor wheel as you can still hear it spool but it's as if boost is not being released.

hey bods When this happened, no the engine light didn't come on. I've also checked the wastegate arm both yesterday and again this morning and it was nice and tight.

my apologies, I got the sequence mixed up as I started from scratch to get it right. So the correct sequence is; 1 x 10 flashes at a slow rate 3 x 10 flashes at a fast rate I've also tried the re-set steps and the flashing won't clear.

Thanks happy_john I just disconnected the battery and drained all remaining volte to the eco, then re-connected the battery. I took it for a drive and it didn't seem to have any issues. I'll monitor it again in the morning when I go to work to see if it does anything.

Thanks bods it's starting to sound like its a wastage issue so I'll put a controller on it and see what that does. Are you able to put up an image of where the controller fits in the line? I'm assuming it'll go in between the actuator and turbo itself?

Thanks .. I'll get some of that and give the sensor a clean. The whistle doesn't get any worse, you can hear it when accelerating. The boost and revs drop when it surges, it feels like its a sticky throttle body as in in opens slightly, then opens all the way as per normal.

I run caltex and have always done so. The thing does have a slight whistle, its had it for a while now (kind of sounds like a siren from inside) but its not. Nissan have checked it and confirmed there's no issues with the turbo. It seems like the air filter assembly isn't sealed properly and...
